Thomas Jefferson University and Hospital is sprawled across four million square feet within 20 buildings on a 13-acre campus.
The existing lighting technology within the expansive lobby of the university’s Hamilton Building had reached its natural end-of-life. Lit by 2-lamp, 26 watt CFLs at a 15-foot ceiling height, all of the lamps in this active lobby were starting to fail and were a nuisance to maintain. Our LRD became the obvious solution when the university realized it could be installed without disruption to the ceiling, for no more than the replacement cost of a lamp and ballast.
The hospital was delighted with the result, which will save them thousands in energy and maintenance costs over the next several years as well as making the facility look more elegant.
